National Population Flow Statistics, a human flow statistics data service, receives an award of excellence at the Construction Technology Exhibition

The National Population Flow Statistics, a service developed jointly by PACIFIC CONSULTANTS CO., LTD. (Address: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Tomoyuki Shigenaga) and Softbank Corporation, has won the Noteworthy Technology Award of Excellence at the Construction Technology Exhibition 2021 Kanto held in November 2021.

The Noteworthy Technology Award was selected among the several hundred exhibited technologies by a panel of visitors' votes and a panel of experts. The National Fluctuation Statistics was selected for the Noteworthy Technology Award of Excellence for its advanced DX-oriented technology and its potential for use in many fields.

PACIFIC CONSULTANTS will continue to promote 'Urban Optimization Management', which aims to solve urban issues by linking various data, including human flow data, in order to promote smart cities, disaster prevention and disaster mitigation, and carbon neutrality.

■What are National Population Flow Statistics?
Nationwide Population Flow Statistics is human flow statistics data that combines PACIFIC CONSULTANTS' knowledge and expertise in social infrastructure, such as urban planning and traffic planning, with location data (fully anonymized) on tens of millions of mobile terminals obtained from Softbank Corporation's mobile phone base stations. By multiplying the use of various means of transport estimated from location data with statistical data such as population, the system provides highly accurate data on movement of people, with expanded estimates for a nationwide population of 120 million people.

By visualizing human mobility, the system aims to contribute to solving social issues and stimulating industry through urban planning and development, disaster countermeasures, plans for opening restaurants and other shops, the revitalization of tourist attractions, and support for the introduction of new mobility services such as self-driving buses.
