During the bidding process for the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government developed basic plans for competition venues, the athletes’ village, media center and so on in connection with the preparation of the application file and candidature file that would make up the Tokyo proposal submitted to the IOC.
During planning for the 2016 and 2020 bids, Pacific Consultants was involved in the overall planning of a series of venues and other facilities from the start of the bid project team. During this big project that spanned a seven-year period beginning with study and analysis of the Beijing Olympics and London Olympics and culminating in a successful bid, we engaged in facility planning and also coordinated overall planning surrounding facilities for security, transportation and so on.
